blah blah and "Low Rider"

I was talking to a performance poet last night and it was unsettling to hear how much venom he had for poets of the page. He actually said he didn't like any other poets. I don't know if things are so polarized (still) or if it was just him. Anyway, I don't like this divide. It is senseless. Poetry is poetry whether you hear it on stage, in the streets or subways, or in your head as you read it privately to yourself. There is no point to "War." In the spirit of this "Let it Be" attitude, here is the band War from the 1970s with their song "Low Rider" (referring to low cars--). Yes, a purely pointless, catchy tune. I thought we should all be less serious for today, the Chinese New Year's Eve (Happy Year of the Snake!!) and just "hang low!"        /ez

  1. What is it good for? "It ain't nothing but a heartache." War, I mean, not poetry:
